On my second trip to Broga Hill, I started off my journey from KL at 5.30am and reached there at about 6am. It was totally dark at that time, and I’m a bit concern about the security at Broga. To my surprise, the place is actually crowded with people and many cars have already parked in a long queue at the road side. My friends and I are well prepared with torch lights and in less than 45 minutes, we were already up at the first peak.

Broga Hill is not tough to hike and it takes roughly 30 minutes to reach the first lookout point. There are about 3-4 of them, each with slightly different view and the further you go, the higher it is, obviously. Mosquito is a nuisance there, so it’s good to be prepared with insect repellant. Although the hike is short, you may be surprised with the amazing view, which looks as if you are quite high above sea level.

Take off site: ‘Monumen Alaf Baru’, Precinct 2, Putrajaya
Flying area: Height of not more than 1000ft and 5 km radius from take off site
Landing site: There is ample land in Putrajaya that is suitable for landing
I only manage to take pix from the take off site as there is no definite landing site announce. There are a few special shape balloons, such as the elephant (Belgium), peacock(France?), orange (Belgium), clown (Belgium), and Nescafe cup (New Zealand). Malaysia has one of the most uninteresting balloon, being the yellow and black Zeppelin

I know this is way overdue but hope it brings back some CNY mood. I’ve been here 3 years ago during CNY and still it looks pretty much the same. They still have the 12 animals of Chinese Astrology lantern at the front, which is well preserved. It is always a good time to go there late in the evening, so that you can take pix with daylight and with bright red lantern at night.

There is no major change at FGS Dong Zen if compared to few years ago, except for the giant cow figure (sponsored by Dutch Lady). It’s the year of the ox after all. A very interesting exhibition of Maiji Shan Caves can be seen at the main hall but unfortunately, photograhy is not allowed there.
Lots of people start pouring in after 7pm, and that is when you have barely any space to move around. I guess all came for the beautiful lighted lanterns.
